Eclectic Lady offers organic, fairly traded African Black Soap made in Togo from pure virgin oils. The ingredients of our African black soap are virgin palm kernel oil, unrefined shea butter, and lye produced from the ashes of plantain leaves and bark from a tree local to Togo called Agow. Our African Black Soap is unique because it contains a high percentage of shea butter (48%). Also, there are no preservatives, color enhancers, or fragrances added. Learn more about how African Black Soap is made.
African Black soap has a very distinct, naturally occuring fragrance. This is due to the process the African women use when they make the soap. Various leaves are burned and added into the soap and the shea butter has been made over a wood fire giving the soap a smoky, nutty fragrance.
This soap is purchased through a fair trade company. Learn more about fair trade - Fair Trade Federation.
