Eclectic Lady offers organic, fairly traded African Black Soap made in Togo from pure virgin oils. The ingredients of our African black soap are virgin palm kernel oil, unrefined shea butter, and lye produced from the ashes of plantain leaves and bark from a tree local to Togo called Agow. Our African Black Soap is unique because it contains a high percentage of shea butter (48%). Also, there are no preservatives, color enhancers, or fragrances added. African Black soap is very high in glycerin and quickly absorbs moisture from the air. African Black soap needs to be stored in an air tight container or sealed plastic bag otherwise it develops a white film on the surface. This isn't mold and your African Black soap is fine to use. To avoid this, keep your African Black soap away from moisture until you are ready to use it.
